Friends, sometimes a word, phrase, picture or song will strike a chord in us that will change the course of our footsteps and help us find our way back to the pathway of life we have somehow strayed from. As we carry on into this year full of great promise, I wanted to share a little piece of my heart that I hope will inspire you along your journey. For just a few minutes, take a look at the rearview tracks of your past. As you reflect back on the epic tale of your yesterdays, what story are the sentences of your life telling? Are you allowing the sullied circumstances surrounding your life—squeezing the breath from you at times—to taint your heart and pull you away from the very One that is your anchor of hope?
Life doesn’t have to be like that. Refuse to live in yesterday’s time zone! Don’t get sucked into the pit of going nowhere. Resist the urge to fast forward to the light-years of tomorrow. What if, instead, you chose to savor each gift moment of the present and trust God with all of your tomorrows? What if you chose, with the rising of each new dawn, to live to glorify God and rejoice in the love gifts sprinkled throughout your day from your Abba Father?
Oh, how I encourage you, sweet sister, to magnify the constant wonder of God’s grace in your life and count all of the many blessings He has so richly lavished upon you. When you live like this, your perspective shifts from the pit to the Divine. Joyfully and peacefully become the adverbs that describe the details of your story. Can you imagine how this will impact your storyline?
God is the author of your life! Don’t put a period where He places a comma. It’s okay if your beginning started out slowly or not as you wanted. It’s okay if life has dealt you heart-rending blows and disappointment and failure have left you feeling unread and discarded. Be encouraged! You have entire chapters yet to be written! Turn your heart over to God and watch the amazing new pages of your life unfold into an amazing story of God’s redemption that climaxes with wonder into a grand finale with the stroke of that final period.
Your story, God’s glory. A legacy to be remembered that touches lives for His Kingdom long after you are gone. Enjoy this grand adventure of life with eternity in mind rather than those things that will only rot and turn to dust.
God is faithful and loves you endlessly! He will finish the good work He began in you before He exhaled your first breath of life. The award-winning Author of your soul will deliver another best-seller when you submit fully to His penmanship.
